Hot Spot Feature: Wheelhouse Salon

Back in December, a little birdie told us about a new salon that was about to open, Wheelhouse. So many creative partnerships in this magic little city, how could we resist. Then, the opportunity to design the interior and sell our products had us drooling! We knew this would be an amazing opportunity to help out some friends, promote our aesthetic, and continue our mission to MOD-ify Birmingham. Currently, there is no salon like this in our city so we were excited for the challenge.

We thought we'd give you a little tour. . .

Feast your eyes - All Decor is for sale.

The salon is a bright, fun, and calming atmosphere. With the signature Wheelhouse coffee blend from Octane Birmingham in your hand, you are invited to wonder around and check out the locally sourced or designed decor and accessories from Harold&MOD, Alabama Funk, or DIGS Design, or even eye wear from IIIs, An Optical Shop. You can even check out the music calendar for Iron City Music Venue and if you see a show you want tickets to, you can purchase them at the Salon!

Meet Courtney, Owner and Master Stylist. A hair hero, some might say.

This is Michelle, she does my hair too!

Products by : Oribe

A bit about Oribe.

Only a few people in this city have ever even heard of Oribe products, let alone use them. This is probably because since Wheelhouse's opening in January of this year, there are now only two places in town that carry them, yet Oribe has been around for decades, and is even credited for revolutionizing hair and fashion. High end products, moderately priced, and top performance.

The New York times, explained in 1992, the shift which revolutionized fashion, hair, and the way that the we imagine the industry today. “As shows got jazzier, and cover-girl models took to the runways, makeup and hair became a big deal. The aim now, in most cases, is to create a total look, using hair and makeup to amplify the idea behind the clothes.”

Ideas like these, are what inspire us - Harold&MOD to surprise you with video campaigns, story lines, themes, and fashion shows. It's why we sell decor and art. And, why we were excited to partner with Wheelhouse - it amplifies the idea behind the clothes!
